IT Epos Technician - Head Office, York |

We are expanding our IT team to support our company growth and are looking for an IT support technician to act as the first point of contact supporting our EPOS and Back Office Systems. Although primarily based in our new head office the role also requires travel to our stores nationwide as you will be required to support our new shop opening team and undertake new equipment installations.

Main Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for store support, supporting EPOS, Back Office Systems and associated infrastructure.
Order and manage the installation of till systems, router, ADSL, PDQ and telecoms in new shops.
Support the new shop opening team, provide training where appropriate on the operation of the till system, peripherals and ShopNet intranet.
Supply / Commission / Configure new Hardware and Software in the Head Office as directed, including PC’s, peripherals, desktop applications, email, and virus control. Record Hardware & Software purchases/assets and license information on the IT Help Desk system.
Act as the first point of contact for technical problems in the Head office, ensuring that all technical problems are recorded on the IT Help Desk system and assigned to the correct IT representative. Ensure shop service levels are within departmental acceptable levels.
Liaise with external support companies or agencies to ensure speedy resolution of problems.
Maintain/repair hardware as appropriate.
Experience and knowledge required:
‘A’ Level or Graduate educated in a related IT subject.
Knowledge or experience of supporting EPOS systems.
Windows 2000/XP Administration.
Windows MSDE, MS Access or SQL Query.
Windows networking, including TCP/IP and wireless technologies.
PC Hardware maintenance.
MS Office Applications.

You will have a good knowledge of MS Office, be very organised with the ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously. As Travel and accommodation is a vital part of the role, you will have experience of negotiating preferential rates and organising travel and accommodation.
Main Objective
Provide admin support to the Senior Management team, organise travel, accommodation, together with general office support services to the business.
Specific Tasks:
