Pavers Community Champions: Celebrating International Women's Day

11 March 2025

This past weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our Pavers Community Champions at a truly special event in honour of International Women’s Day. Surrounded by warmth, gratitude, and inspiring stories, we gathered to recognise ten incredible women who have made a lasting impact on their communities.

From volunteers and fundraisers to caregivers and community leaders, each of our finalists has shown unwavering dedication, kindness, and passion for helping others. Their stories moved us, their determination inspired us, and their contributions reminded us of the power of community spirit.

And now, we’re thrilled to share some exciting news…

They’re All Winners!

Yes, that’s right! After reading their amazing stories and seeing the difference they make, we simply couldn’t choose just one winner—because they all deserve to be celebrated.

Each of our ten finalists has been named a Pavers Community Champion and will receive a year’s supply of feel-great footwear as a small token of our appreciation for all they do.

A Celebration to Remember

The event was filled with smiles, happy tears, and well-deserved recognition, and we couldn’t be prouder to honour these remarkable women. Among them was Theresea Evans, whose tireless work supporting her community has helped so many in need, and Sophie Giraudeau, who continues to bring people together through the power of music and friendship with her Rock Choir.

Lynda Corser couldn’t attend the event, but her incredible work was celebrated throughout the day. From fundraising for Martin House Children’s Hospice to supporting pensioners in her community, her dedication has made a lasting impact. Though she couldn’t be there in person, her kindness and generosity were truly felt, and she remains an inspiration to us all.

We were also delighted to welcome Emily, who attended on behalf of Rachael Scott-Hunter. Rachael’s incredible work advocating for families of individuals with profound learning difficulties has already created meaningful change, and it was wonderful to see her contributions recognised through Emily’s presence at the event.

You can find out more about all of our winners in our previous Pavers Community Champions blog.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate these inspiring women and, of course, to our winners for making the International Women’s Day Event fabulous, as well as for everything they do to make the world a better place.
